store bought fruits for seeds

I'm new to gardening and bonsai tree didaling. I was wondering partly because it's cheaper and faster then an online store, if I bought say a kiwi or peach at the grocery store would I be able to Sprott these seeds. after propagation on some seeds of course.

Yes in general you can do it. Classic case- Avocado, which many of us grew as children. I had great fun last year sprouting the seeds from a dragon fruit in my kitchen window, that one is easy. Some seeds need to have a cold spell after they have gotten planted in the moist soil or pot, this is called stratification. Apple seeds need this. It can often be done in your refrigerator!

Always fun to grow things from seed, just keep in mind that if you are trying to grow a specific variety of fruit and that is why you are buying the fruits for their seed, it is very likely that while they will sprout they will not be true to seed ie what you grow may be nothing like what you ate

All said if you are looking to grow fruiting shrubs, vines, or trees, you will be better off trying to root cuttings or select trees that have been tested in your area as well as grafted onto rootstock that is appropriate for your region and soil type

your local extension may be a good place to start if you are looking for varieties that work
