Hi All,
We found a Huntsman Spider in our place when moving some boxes around about a week ago. He was a big guy, I like to keep them around because they keep the white tip spider population down. But he kept ending up in places you normally wouldn't see them like on the top of the sofa and in the box where the toilet rolls are kept. So I decided to scoop him up and put him out in the shed, thinking he will run off and do his own thing...Went to check on him the following day and he was acting strange like he lost his motor skills couldn't coordinate his legs. I'm not sure what happened, maybe another spider came in and bit him? I brought it back inside in a box and sat him on the fridge to see if it would recover its been 5 days now and hes not any better. I thought if he was dying he would of died by now? I dropped a bug in there with him and its like he can see it. Could someone please tell me what might be wrong with him? I didn't want to give him the chop if he is just shedding his skin or something.
Thanks!

CLOSED: Huntsman Spider ( South Australia) weird behavior
Some huntsman spiders will stay quiescent for quite some time prior to moulting, but they also usually spin some sort of shelter for themselves first. Is it all possible that your spider could have come in contact with any chemicals stored in your shed?
