This bug flew in my house sound like a fighter jet, ran into the wall and knocked itself out for ten minutes. I was taking pictures and hitting it with a stick when it woke up. It had a very hard shell.

What kind of bug could this be?

It;s a stink bug (family Pentatomidae, but I cannot tell you much more without seeing its top (dorsal) aspect. This family includes both predaceous and plant-feeding species; from the position of the beak on your specimen, it more likely is a plant feeder....
