I know this is a bad picture but I'm wondering what this bug is. They're very small, and I hit a bush with my bug net, and there was hundreds inside the net! I live in Toronto, ontario. It has one pair of wings, so definitely diptera, and it has feathery kind of mouth parts

Unfortunately, I cannot see enough detail in this image to hazard an identification. In photographing Diptera, one of the more important aspects is a clear view of the wing vein pattern.
