Is this normal for my larva to turn brown and swell like this? It looks much fatter ever since I put it in the ethanol, it's been in there for about 3 months, I have another caterpillar/larva who was bright green but it's dark brown now

What strength ethanol did you use? And did you change the ethanol solution that you first placed the specimen in before placing it in the vial? Also, unless you use a fixative of some kind, many specimens in ethanol will fade over time...
