Pink with black fringe

Hi all you guys are always so helpful! Thank You! Your advice helped me make several decisions regarding plant care! Thank You! For this. So I have a picture from a friend that wants to know what it is. And after seeing the stunning beauty me too!

I think it is probably a Protea flower. There are many species. Maybe Protea laurifolia? Wow that is gorgeous! Looks tropical, wish I could have it.

It does look like 'Bishop Tutu'. Sure wish I lived in southern California!
