UK spider. False Widow?

Hi all,


Would be very grateful if someone can tell me what spider this is? Most importantly, whether its a false widow or not.
Been getting a crazy amount of them round the outside of my house and in bbq cover.

This spider appears to be in the genus Steatoda, which includes the so-called 'false widow' spiders. These are not nearly as dangerous as some media outlets (such as the Daily Mail) would have one believe - http://www.uksafari.com/steatodagrossa.htm
