Rough leaves. Reminds me of European Hornbeam.
Am I close with this ID?
Persian Ironwood?
That's a young Ulmus sp. specimen.
Look closely at the leaf bases, which are oblique. This is a good identifier when you see these leaves that look like lots of quite different species.
There are many clones of hybrid elms in use for urban landscapes, so your pics won't absolutely separate this one from the herd. If pressed, I'd lean to 'Triumph'.
Work on your closeup images of leaves, buds, twigs, etc. The buds that are set for dormancy (where the leaf petiole attaches to the stem/twig) are great ID features, too. You will never confuse an Elm bud with a Hornbeam bud with a Parrotia bud.
Another one I should have gotten the family right on. Why didn't I check the leaf base?
