Ok, so there's quite a few of these in the shed and they really creep everyone out. Are they dangerous, do they bite, etc?
What is this and why is it in the shed
This is a cobweb/comb-footed spider (family Theridiidae) in the genus Steatoda. Some species in this genus are known as 'false widow' or 'rabbit hutch' spiders; they are not aggressive, but may bite if handled carelessly. Their bite can be quite painful (personal experience), but not dangerous. See http://www.uksafari.com/falsewidows5.htm
