So this was crawling on our bed this morning and I am wanting to know what kind of spider this is. This is the only picture I was able to get and the flash was on. I live in Vancouver Washington.
Spider identification
Looks like a male cobweb/comb-footed spider in the genus Steatoda; possibly S. grossa. Females of that species can deliver a very painful but not dangerous bite...
Are they common to the Pacific Northwest?
Steatoda spiders are common throughout much of North America...
