Is this a Japanese beetle grub?
And what is the other bug on the leaf? Kinda cute.
Ok Flapdoodle I'm hoping you are going to chime in with your knowledge.
CLOSED: What are these please?
The critter in the first image is a good guy (or gal); it's an assassin bug in the genus Zelus, a general predator on many other small arthropods. The grub is a larva of a beetle in the family Scarabaeidae, but whether or not it is a Japanese beetle larva cannot be determined from this image. A positive i.d. requires examination of certain body parts under magnification - http://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/insects/japanese-beetle-5-601/
Thanks again Flapdoodle, you are awesome! I hoped that cute bug was a good guy! FINALLY a beneficial ha ha.
