There was a bunch of these caterpillars on the front of the house this morning. I had to move a couple that were on my screen door handle. I tried to look it up but seems there are so many that look close im just not sure. Just out of curiosity does any know what this, caterpillar might be. They were all about 1 inch long

Tent caterpillar?? Not sure but sure look like them to me. Check your surrounding trees/shrubs and make sure they aren't already established on them.

The only tree in my yard is a hackberry and it shows no signs of tent caterpillars neither do any of my neighbors. I could not find any images of tent caterpillars that matched the ones on the house so still not sure

This caterpillar is in the family Noctuidae; it appears to belong to the subset that includes cutworms, armyworms, etc. - see http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sites/default/files/voucher_images/caterpillar_149.jpg for an example.

Great thanks for the help. I was hoping it was gonna be a pretry butterfly. Will keep an eye for them in the garden. Hopefully they don't give me any problems.
