This plant is nearly 2 years old but an irrigation problem caused leaf yellowing/dropping. Watering seems to be OK now and new leaves are growing, but how/should it be pruned to promote more interior growth?
Help with abutilon - So Cal near ocean
Is it in a pot? Here we cut abutilons to the ground and they return each spring to bloom in Sept/Oct. The canes are always different. If you prune at this season you are apt to have no blooms.
Thanks. No, it isn't in a pot. Seems to me it bloomed in the spring...but another one has a few blooms on it now. Guess I'll head over to the garden center to see what they say. I appreciate your response!
