I have had this spider in the yard for many years now. Which is this? Notice the hairy whiskers on the hind legs.

Thanks again Flap. It is, but notice the thin hairs I pointed out in my photos, not the black ones.
Because of the angle from which the image in the wikimedia article was taken those hairs are not easily seen. Enlarge the image, and look just above the spider's leg that is sticking out at a right angle to its body (spider's right leg; left side of image)...
BTW, that was a very nice photo you took!
Right. Observed it. The tiny hairs are overlapping the leg in front of it. Did you also observe closely after I inquired?
I double-checked to be certain...
