Squash bug, leaf footed bug, spined soldier bug?? Ok I am in NE KS. Who knows? There are just so many insects to weed through!! Thank you for your knowledge folks.

This a nymph of a leaf-footed bug (family Coreidae); at least it is not a squash bug...
