Please tell me what these icky bugs are that have invaded my compost bin. I thought maybe thrips but I read that thrips are barely visible to the naked eye? These are huge!

These are earwigs (order Dermaptera). Most of these are scavengers on decomposing organic matter, some are predators on other small arthropods, and a few species can cause damage to tender vegetation. They should do no harm in your compost bin...
