I am a newbie growing flowers for my daughter's sept 3rd wedding (4 weeks away) and a big storm came through and flattened my zinnias, dahlias and cosmos. I propped them up with stakes but now they're super messy and top heavy. Can I prune them all back hard and have flowers in 4 weeks? Need advice fast!
Thank you!
Can I cut zinnias down hard and have flowers by sept 3rd?
I think you can cut them back because the more you cut the Zinnia flowers the more the plant blooms.
Well, I wouldn't cut them back "hard". You can cut them back, dead head them, but I'm thinking if you cut them too much they may not grow back in time for the wedding. You could thin out some of the blooms so they wouldn't be so top heavy.
