Kind of beetle?

Garland, TX

Hello,

I love taking pictures of bugs outdoors and I noticed this little dude just outside my apartment. I believe this sucker, or one, bit me also. 3 mm perhaps?

I had seen it crawling on me and later got an itching bump. I believe, won't promise, that one of these had blown thru my AC down onto me and I had squished it before. It just looks like some kind of tiny biting beetle to me.

It is a beetle; possibly a grain beetle of some kind (extremely difficult to be certain of an i.d. from this image); extremely unlikely to be a biter...

Perhaps this is better. Found another inside. Again, I'm pretty sure they're coming thru the AC. Sweeping the kitchen, this one was in the corners.

It is a grain beetle in the genus Oryzaephilus (saw-tooted/merchant grain beetles); common pantry pests. See http://texasinsects.tamu.edu/bimg157.html.
