if this insect was found in North America, it likely would be one of the shieldback katydids in the genus Atlanticus - http://songsofinsects.com/katydids/least-shieldback

Flapdoodle, thank you for the pointer.

I found him in late May whilst staying in the Glenvillle Lake area, North Carolina.

Atlanticus monticola
