Anyone know what kind of bug this is? I've been searching online for weeks and the one thing I was thinking is a springtail. They're grayish, soft bodied and can jump, but not fly. The picture shows the largest one I've seen. It's been hot and sunny for over a month here and they appear to be along my porch and siding outside; inside they're practically everywhere (bathrooms, kitchen, Windows). I've used sevin outside along the house and ortho home defense that's safe for children and pets inside several times... I just can't seem to get rid of them. Any advice? Figured I'd try this before calling a professional for help. Thanks!
CLOSED: Tiny nuisance: grayish bug in and out of house
It is a springtail; looks like something in the family Entomobryidae - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/springtails_genus_orchesella for some examples. Strictly nuisance pests that will do no harm; moisture management is the best control.
Thank you!!
