I tried to ID this big fella I found tonight running around the house but I couldn't find anything that quite fit the description. It looks like it has 8 legs but then again the two in front might be antennae or jaws/claws/hands of some sort, which disqualifies it from the arachnids. It has large mandibles like a tarantula does, which leads me to believe it is not a brown recluse. Please help!
Big spider in north phoenix/carefree area
It's a solfugid (sun spider, wind scorpion), a non-venomous arachnid related to spiders and scorpions - http://ag.arizona.edu/yavapai/anr/hort/byg/archive/solpugid.html
