Hi all! This past month or more I have had a big red spider living around my outside light..I named it big red..I would like to know however what kind of spider it is. Its big and a beautiful tan color. I tried looking up wolf spiders but no such luck..Thanks!
From it's posture, I'd say that it is a very gravid female fishing/nursery web spider (family Pisauridae) in the genus Pisaurina - see http://spidersinohio.net/nursery-web-spiders/ "plain colored female"
