Please help me ID this insect.
I live in Quebec, Canada, in an apartment complex on TOP floor, so don't know where these could be coming from.
For the past week I found three of these (one - in the kitchen, two - in a room).
Am I getting an infestation?
What could be attracting them here?
How do I get rid of them? AND/OR prevent them from coming again?
Thank you!!!
Please ID this insect!
This is a peridomestic species of assassin bug (family Reduviidae) known as the masked hunter. They are general predators on other arthropods, mainly other insects. The fact that you are finding several of them could mean that you have infestation(s) of other insects in/on your property. See http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/masked-hunter for more detailed information.
