Blue legged centipede?

Kawasaki, Japan

My husband killed this blue-legged centipede in the sink this morning, and we've seen the same type in the house once before (in the nursery -_-;) It would be nice to know more about it!

It is (was, RIP) a little over 3 centimeters in length. We live in Kawasaki Japan.

Thanks in advance ^^

All centipedes are venomous, and large specimens of scolopendrid centipedes are capable of inflicting a very painful bite - I experienced this from a ~10 cm specimen in Texas many years ago. I can't tell you anything about this particular species, but I am not aware of any species in your are that are truly dangerous to humans. During the 3+ years I lived in the vicinity of Sagamihara, I cannot recall even seeing a centipede...

Yeah, I lived in Tokyo for 10 years without seeing one either... But since moving out to Kawasaki I have been seeing all sorts of new bugs. A big part of it is probably just the difference between living in an apartment in the city vs a home with a yard in a greener area.

This centipede has been frustrating since everything I am looking up in Japanese seems inconclusive as to whether it's a moreorless benign adult, or a baby of something a little more sinister. And searching the same few names comes up with a huge variety of images that mostly don't match.
