Body length no more than 2-3mm. I really like the coloration and markings on this one.

This is a frit fly (family Chloropidae); it looks like a Thaumatomyia sp. - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/156347424 for an example. Larvae of flies in this genus appear to be predators on root aphids.
