spider cousin?

Just found this in my mother's bed........any clue of what it is? The body was somewhere between 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch long.

This is sort of a 'cousin' to a spider in that it is an arachnid in the order Solfugae. These go by a wide variety of common names, including solfugids/solpugids, sun spiders, wind scorpions, etc.; they are non-venomous but have strong jaws that can give a painful bite - http://www.solpugid.com/Introduction.htm
