This little guy was crawling around my window frame outside... About 2" total, strange black and white fins jutting up on either side of it's back, red joints where the legs connect to the body. Wonky schnoz.

It's an assassin bug (family Reduviidae), a general predator on other arthropods. I lived in Japan 1972-1975, and never saw one like this!
