Hello! I have a small hedge of Phenomenal Lavendar, 8-9 plants long, which I'm normally very diligent about cutting back. This spring, one thing and another distracted me from pruning and now the plants are about to bloom and are enormous! As they line one side of our daily entrance to the house, it's a bit of a problem - only a foot or so of walkway is still usable along the edge of the sidewalk. I don't want to risk the blooms by cutting back now, because I do use the flowers. I wondered, tho, if I could do a heavy pruning immediately after the bulk of the stems have flowered and possibly get a second harvest. If it's relevant, this is a well-established planting. Anyone have luck with pruning in summer? Thanks!
Late Pruning of Lavendar
I have done this with other lavender and they were fine, so go ahead and prune after bloom. I am not sure if they will rebloom or not.
I have one Phenomenal Lavender, it is MUCH larger than advertised.
