Found this guy on my back step it was one of the largest spiders i have seen In Ontario. Just wondering what kind it is? We live in Barrie Ontario Canada. We are not close to water but have lots of trees around us. Thanks

This is a fishing spider in the genus Dolomedes, likely Dolomedes tenebrosus. Large specimens can have a leg span of up to 75 mm. In spite of their name, they may be found at quite some distance from any water.
