Since we're breathing on June, thought I'd go ahead and start the June blooms thread. We've not done one in quite awhile and I always like to see what's blooming in everyone else's gardens.
Roughleaf Sunflowers (Thanks, Josephine!)
Purple Coneflowers
Daylily 'Cat's Pajamas'
June Blooms (2016 Edition)
Those are beautiful Stephanie, my roughleaf sunflowers are going strong too.
Love those roughleaf sunflowers, Stephanie.
Enjoying all your - soon to be June flowers. I'll share one of these days soon. Keep posting those photo's.
Beautiful flowers Glenna.

I hope you will show us your flowers soon Anna
frostweed - How could I not share photo's with a comment like that. Though I just posted these same photo's on "What's Blooming 2" thread.
I especially liked that Texas Gold Columbine - oh such a beauty! TX is sure ahead of IL, I have no coneflowers in bloom and very few daylily.
The dog and I have been out for my morning look and here is what I have blooming today. More in the way of cool blue colors today.
Your flowers are gorgeous Anna, such beautiful purples and red too.!!!
brendak654 Anna, IL:
Love those poppies. Here in my part of Texas I plant poppies by September 15 so they can get established before frost. In your cold climate, when do you plant poppy seed?
Very pretty, Brenda!
Thank you - thank you. Yes, I planted the poppies in the fall though I'm not sure they came up until spring. Anyhow - I have lots. I'm hoping next year I can succeed with poppies growing in wild daisies. Anyhow - that sounds pretty.
Gorgeous flowers Glenna, I am so glad to see this forum alive again!!
More pretties! I wish my Blue mistflower would start blooming! I think I'm having plant envy.
My Bluemist is not blooming yet either. Not enough sun I guess.
Nothing's quite right in my yard and some plants are dying of mildew and rot.
The same here Cheryl, and with all the shade i have it is a problem.
Sorry to hear about all the wet. The flowers I'm seeing in your pictures sure look PRETTY! It is a little wet for me to be outside working today as I have already been out and got my socks and feet wet. I did manage to cut a few larkspur and try hanging them to dry - will see how that goes. I transplanted some dwarf volunteer marigolds and took a few pictures to share. Then I had to pick of few of the calla lily (the big yellow ones - my favorite).
I'm REALLY enjoying seeing all the butterflies on the mistflower? I'm not familiar with mistflower though I'm guessing it is a type of ageratum?
Oops - forgot the most important one
Gregg's Mistflower - had several butterflies show up yesterday. Not nearly as many as in years past but hope for more soon.
I think I may be begging, but I would love you to save me some of the TX special mistflower seed - I looked it up on Pinterest and WHOA I see what you say about the Monarch's. I also see the foliage is different than ageratum (which is what I was thinking it was). I would gladly seed swap with some orange tassel flower seed later in the year?
Ah, everytime I get a new phone it loads sideways. It does take nice pics though.
That looks like some kind of fungus on the Goldenrod, I have seen some on mine too.

I've never started it from seed but would be glad to send seed to you if someone can tell me if they think it will actually germinate. It has spread so much in my yard that this spring I have pulled up more than a 50-gallon barrel of it and it still comes back where there's any little sprig or root left. I love it but... there can be too much of a good thing !
Cheryl, where do you get all those special natives I can never seem to find them.
Mail order!
I have a pot of Z.g. That looks like some of the transplants might be alive. It's yours if you want it but this plant is the hardest thing to transplant. I'll also likely have some fresh seed this fall. They need very good drainage, sandy soil and a lot of sun.

Gorgeous Loosestrife Cheryl, I know it was your Mother's right?
If you have a start of Zinnia grandiflora I would love to have it.
I have a pot for you but it's so not likely to survive! This plant grows so well in my cactus bed and spreads too much but dig up the offshoots and plant them and they die?
Yes my friend sent it all the way from MI when I moved to TX and it is a descendant of my mothers plant.
sounds like time for drainage and permascaping. during the first May rains last year I brought in 6 yards of garden soil and built wales to channel the water and make it soak in where I needed it.
The stuff that doesn't like wet feet I left in pots this year. Rain lily with small marigold, mexican flame vine (I have a start on a 2nd) Dahlia duet, geranium & blue daze, Vitex

My Wildflowers do best in poor soil, some grow in almost no soil since I have areas that have little to no top soil basically just rock. I have a few raised beds but most of the Wildflowers grow in unamended areas.
Enjoying all the photo's.
Gypsi - Vitex - I have one that is a start off of a larger one (someone gave me). I have had it two years and it is only a foot tall - - hummm, are they really slow growing?
