Mystery spider at Machu Picchu

Kaprijke, Belgium

Hello,

Me and my friends have been wondering for a while now about following photo. I found this beauty in a narrow passage I had to get through while visiting Machu Picchu in Peru. I had no idea if it was poisonous or dangerous in any way but it looks very ominous.

A friend of mine sais Brazilian wandering spider but in my opinion it looks nothing like that. Does anyone have an idea what spider this is and if it was dangerous or not?

This appears to be a type of tarantula (a mygalamorph spider). Probably could deliver a painful (but not dangerous) bite if mishandled.

This is a mature male (has palpal bulbs) mygalomorph spider (chelicerae project forward from the carapace) in the family Dipluridae (long posterior lateral spinnerets) ... and is possible in the genus Linothele. Hope that helps,
