Image 1 - A mosquito, but the coloring looked different from the mosquitos we usually have here

Images 2,3 - body length is maybe 18mm or so. Is the snout specialized for feeding?

Thanks...

The mosquito is in the genus Ochlerotatus (formerly a subgenus of Aedes); there are several species that can have a similar appearance, a prime suspect would be O. cantator, the brown saltmarsh mosquito - see http://bugguide.net/node/view/326591/bgimage for an image.
The other insect is a female scorpionfly (order Mecoptera) in the genus Panorpa, see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/89322199 for an example. This specimen is a male, exhibiting its genitalia that have the appearance if a scorpion's sting, hence the common name.
