I bought a corkscrew rush last year, and it grew well in a pot all summer. I did not know that it was perennial, and just left it out all winter with no water. It still looks the same, and doesn't feel stiff. It's still green (mostly). Do you think it lived through the winter? How can I tell if it's dead? When will it start to show growth if it survived? Anyone with experience growing these? I appreciate any help.
Did I Kill It??
If it were dead, it would have turned yellow and disappeared. Should have kept it watered, but may not have damaged it. It will know what to do, as the season advances, but do keep it watered now
I think it is alive, mine (in the ground in a winter-soggy spot) made it through , staying green all winter. It has just started growing again. You are in a slightly colder spot than I am, so yours should start growing soon.
