Raspberry suckers ... ok to let them grow?

Indianapolis, IN

I bought a couple of raspberry plants last year but have never grown them, they were on sale and raspberries are so expensive in the grocery, I thought I'd try it. They actually bloomed not long after I planted them (which really surprised me) and I had a serving of raspberries each week. I did prune them last fall (I hope I did it right). To my surprise, there are now "baby" raspberry plants in the same bed as the originals. I've read different opinions on what to do with them. My first inclination was to just let them grow and see what happens, just like they grow on the forest edge but these aren't wild so I wasn't sure if that was the best idea. I'm not concerned about them staying in nice, neat rows. I'm not sure of the species, I kept the tag for a long time but I can't find it now. They're red and I bought them at Meijer (I know that's not much to go on, lol)
Anyone with raspberry experience have any advice?
Thanks so much!

Raspberries will sucker (put up new stems) from their root systems. That is probably what you are experiencing.

I would let them grow. As you see them flower and set fruit, you will see whether they are the same as your original plants.
