Help identifying this house spider please!!

My wife saw this spider in our house just about 30 mins ago on the wall in the bathroom. I instantly killed it before it could run off, becoming the hero. After squashing him he's about the size of a quarter curled up, while alive I would say about two quarters size side by side. We just recently moved to Kansas and know Brown Recluses are a problem here.

We also live on Fort Riley in some of their historic houses so old house with a basement, which we found a dead spider in a few months ago. My wife HATES spiders but reall just want to make sure it's not a brown recluse.

This poor male spider most definitely is NOT a recluse spider. Those very seldom are seen out in the open (why do you think that they are called 'recluse' spiders?)...

I understand they are recluse spiders, however like I said we are new here. I've been instructed at work about them and where you will usually find them and they may come out at night. Plus heard about the story below right after moving here so thinking worse case haha
