contemporary plant ideas for front driveway

Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Hello everyone
This is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help.
I am trying to create a modern, tropical theme for our front driveway but am stumped with what plants to use for the front semi circle which is 9m long x 1.5m deep. I really need the plants to be evergreen, no more than 1mx1m and frost hardy(ish) So far I like the following:-
1 Chamerops humilis (1m tall) for the centre piece (not very imaginative I know)
2 small chamerops vulcanos (0.5m) tall on either side of centre piece
2 yucca filamentosa "bright edge" dotted about
A couple of cannas and red hot pokas and a few grasses.
I quite like the small phormiums but am wondering if they are a bit too much like the yuccas in structure.
I also love the cautleya spicata but just discovered the foliage isn't evergreen!

I don't want anything more than 1m high/wide as I want the centre piece to be the main attraction.

Any suggestions? Your ideas would be very much appreciated.

What is your temperature range? Are you trying to keep this area short, as your center piece is only a meter tall? Your plants are all palms or yuccas (except for the cannas, red hot pokers and grasses). What look are you going for? So far, it seems very Mediterranean. Will your climate support those choices?
