I found this purple leafy plant along Susanville CA hills on a trail called "Ranch Park". At fist glance, I thought it was rhubarb but I am obviously mistaken. Please help identify. I've never come across a plant like this.
Need help identifying
Tubers. Not sure of the plant- needs more of the leaf grown out. The color is due to fast new growth and will probably fade as it matures. Hopefully you got enough of the root for the plant to survive.
What happened to take only pictures, leave only footprints?
You got only the top of the plant. It is doomed to die. Hopefully, the tubers/rhizomes left behind will be fine.
