I know there are loads of different markings for wasps. This one was seen in southern Spain recently.
Paper Wasp ?
Not a paper wasp, but a mason wasp; looks like it's in the genus Ancistrocerus - see http://www.biodiversidadvirtual.org/insectarium/Ancistrocerus-biphaleratus-%28Saussure-1852%29-img680142.html for an example.
Thanks
