I found this spider in our garden but cannot identify it. Can somebody help me please.

This a giant silk spider in the genus Nephila, see http://www.biodiversityexplorer.org/arachnids/spiders/nephilidae/nephila_fenestrata.htm for an example. They are harmless to humans.
