Morning Glories & frost

Pensacola, FL

Our morning glories got hit pretty hard from a frost a few days ago... The plant was very established, but I fear it may be dead. I am somewhat new to gardening flowers and was wondering if this plant will come back in the spring? Or is there anything I need to do to it to ensure the plant will survive? Thanks

Morning Gory seeds hunker down in the soil and come back every year--
more than you will even want. I have had MG seeds come back 6-8 years after
I grew it and it dropped it's seeds. Do not worry about MG surviving.
Just keep an eye our on the bed you had it in. MG make a million seeds--
and they all sprout. You will be pulling them up a lot.

Not to worry! Gita

MG are annuals and they are not frost hardy ie freezing weather will kill the original plant. If the original plant set seed they should germinate when the weather warms up.

I have had mg for several years and they are right, mine grow until the first hard freeze then in the spring they start to pop up all over the place and in places you would never expect.
