This bug, about 2 inches in size, was found last week in Amazon region of Peru (near Iquitos). Would appreciate your help in identification. Thanks!

It's a tropical wandering spider (family Ctenidae). Some species in the genus Phoneutria can be dangerously venomous; see http://www.naturalvisions.co.uk/ImageDetail.aspx?imdet=64925 for an example.
