Hi, I'm a total novice gardener and was looking for some advice with my turf.
I laid a new lawn from turf in March this year it took well and was fine all summer long, towards the end of September I noticed the grass was a little brown at the root but not overly wet or dry and put it down to perhaps being a bit long or perhaps having some cuttings left following previous cut. I cut it again in early oct as the last cut of the year.
It has grown a lot due to the mild weather but have noticed it's very patchy and looking dead underneath when you pull pack the growth, some of the green is turning yellow but in certain strands. I do seem to have a lot of earthworms but not sure if it's just due to the recent rainfall.
The neighbouring garden is slightly higher but the ground doesn't seem unduly wet (I remember from childhood lawn always had sitting water on it due to neighbouring gardens and it isn't anything like that)
Have attached a couple of images ignore the soil moisture it had been raining prior, be great to get an idea on whether it's a fungal, drainage or insect issue.
Pic two is an area that hasn't grown back since I first noticed the issue and pic one is the centre of the lawn
