Hi, all.
I'd love some help in identifying these little critters that have invaded my wife's dance studio.
We initially noticed several dozen, or perhaps 100 of these little guys walking along the ground in the baseboard of her studio. They are tiny in the extreme. Saying that they are a half a millimeter long is probably being generous. In fact, they are so small, I can barely discern color, other than to call them dark brownish.
Also, I can't tell whether they are spiders, or insects with long, leg-sized antennae. If I stare at the photos long enough, I almost think I see a hemipteran shape. Any help with identifying these little bastards would be appreciated. Wifey is freaking out, and I'm pretty sure at this point she'd be willing to burn the entire building down in order to get rid of these things. Help me to convince her that her concerns are overblown.
What the heck are these things??
Clover mites are likely suspects. These basically are nuisance pests that cause no real harm indoors - see http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/clover-mites for details.
