Does anybody have any experience with Pineapple Pear? Specifically I would like to know how good the fruit is, and the general shape. Are they round like asian pears, or do they have that distinctive pear shape?
We have one, and the tag that came with it shows a round fruit, but some of the tags on other pineapple pear trees sold at the same time had regular pear shaped fruit in the photo. So I'm not sure what to expect. The leaves look larger and glossier when compared to our other pear trees.
Any ideas? Real photos from your orchard? Thanks!

Anybody heard of these?
I have never heard of Pineapple Pears so did a little research. They seem to be used as pollinators and there is a lot about them being popular in the south. Hardiness zones are 4 - 9 so I think you are okay in Ohio.
The shape reminds me of Comice Pear: sort of round but sort of pear shaped too. They sound interesting.
