Hello
I found this little guy near the Swan River, Perth, Australia. I included a couple of shots of it in its web as well as a macro shot I took. It's actually only about 1cm or so big. After some research, I think it is of the genus Argiope but I'm not certain. Does anyone know what species it is?
Thanks

Her's another possibility...

It does look very similar, although my spider doesn't seem to have such a protruding back. The web also looks very similar so I am inclined to think my spider is of that species.
I can't find anywhere how venomous this species is - what would happen if it bit a human?
Thanks
It's an orb weaver, and although like nearly all spiders it has venom glands, it is harmless to humans.
