I get confused between the common names Hinoki, false, and Sawari Cypress. Are they basically all the same species? Is this fluorescent specimen (located right next to the tree from my other post today) one of them?
Another Sawari Cypress?
This is another Hinoki Cypress, close to the natural wild type in appearance.
There's two species of Japanese cypresses:
Hinoki Cypress = Chamaecyparis obtusa
Sawara Cypress = Chamaecyparis pisifera
Resin
OK thanks. That clears it up for me. :)
