DH and I spotted this hanging under the lip of a pot....thought it was a leaf but it definitely has something inside of it and it was attached to the lip like other cocoons do. Any ideas? P.S. the photo is sideways (I'm on my tablet and can't figure out how to rotate it).
Thank you!
What kind of cocoon is this?
This is a chrysalis of a butterfly in the family Pieridae, likely that of a cloudless sulfur, Phoebis sennae - http://nativeplantwildlifegarden.com/partridge-pea-cloudless-sulphur/
