Sorry for the bad angles on the spider - it's only about an eighth of an inch long and even through the viewfinder I couldn't really see how it was oriented.

You've got some interesting specimens here. The spider looks like something in the family Theridiidae, but I've never seem one with markings lie this one. If your beetle looks like this (http://scienceblogs.com/myrmecos/2010/04/14/and-now-a-bark-gnawing-beetle/) from above, it might be a bark-gnawing beetle in the family Trogossitidae...
