I found this spider in water in my my toilet bowl. I took a pic but not that good. I flushed down the toilet. It is in the powder room off the garage. Some people saw it and told me they thought it was a Brown Recluse. I hope not!! It was a pretty good size like over an inch for the body. Does anyone know what it could be? Location is in zip 08080 in Southern New Jersey.
This is a wolf spider (family Lycosidae). It looks nothing like a recluse spider, which does not occur anywhere near New Jersey - http://spiders.ucr.edu/images/colorloxmap.gif
