This lil fella just wandered in from the window...
First off, let me introduce that I'm only slightly familiar with arachnids in general, and I'm curious and interested in raising a pet spider/tarantula. I'm not that well knowledgeable in this field, and it weighs on my anxiety, but I hope I'll learn much from this forum. I'll listen to all suggestions.
I just caught this spider, and I would like to know its species. I am particularly interested in knowing if it is aggressive and venomous, for potential pet raising. I think if I learn these details, I'll be able to figure out how to house it properly (if it is suitable for so), and the likes...
Note: I live on a hill in Lebanon.
CLOSED: Spider identification
This is a huntsman/giant crab spider in the family Sparassidae, it appears to be Eusparassus (formerly Sparassus) walckenaeri - see http://www.giantspiders.com/article3/ for an article on rearing this species in captivity.
I think you're right.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but after some looking up, I think it's a heteropoda venatoria.
Thank you for answering my question.
I believe you are correct - I did not examine your image closely enough the first time around, and based my answer primarily on species native to your region; I failed to consider introduced species. My apologies for unintentionally misleading you.
I appreciate your efforts. You helped me learn much.
